Is there a secret to getting motorcycle plastics to fit correctly?l have a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja 250 and removed the side plastics and front faring.l had them off for a couple weeks and now l can not get them to fit right. If l get it fit around the headlight and get the little guides put through the holes (l assume that is just so you know where it is supposed to go), the mirror bolt holes match up, and l can get the farthest bolt hole to match up, but the one on the higher part of the tank will not go high enough.l do not wanna break the plastic.l spent over 2 hours trying different things to try to adjust it to fit and l can not get it.Any tips, ideas or secrets?

It is the factory plastic and they fit just fine before l removed them.

Has the bike ever fallen over?
The fairing bracket is probably bent.
Just ever so slightly - just enough to flex the plastic without cracking it.
When the fairing was removed, it probably flexed back to it is normal shape.

one of the brackets on the frame connecting the fairings might be dented of some whut,or just maybe ya'd have to flex the plastic to fit correctly..screw in the fairing from the bottom to top, then try flex on the places where it do not fit,it should fit properly into the bracket holes..if that does not work time for the bike garage dude..good luck, ride safe ride on.cheers

Try setting the whole bike out in the sun, including the plastics. The plastic panels on your bike, like most everything else on the planet..contract when cool, and expand when hot. You would be surprised actually at how much those panels will expand if the temperature of them changes by 40 or 50 degrees.
