The Yamaha YZF-R6 and the Suzuki GSX-R600 are very different indeed, but also similar in many ways. If you are looking for power as your starter bike, you should go for the r6, but if you are looking for a bike with good controls such as the controls to function singals or speed, you should go for the Gixxer. However, both bikes are rela good start bikes. Personally, l would get the R6.

Neither, if you want a big boy bike that is still somewhat user friendly look into a Kawasaki Ninja 650r or Suzuki GSX650F. Both of those are more track bikes converted into street use it is not impossible to learn on them but they are more for performance versus commuting.

Do not go cheap, get a real sport bike like the ones you listed. My brother started on an R6 and stepped up to an R1 a few months later.He said it was a good starter bike. l have a 2006 GSXR 750 and l have never had a problem with it as my first bike.

You need to stay off of 600+ cc sport bikes while learning, too many people die that way!

Get a used Ninja 250, & ride one season, or if u crave ''power try a Buell Blast 500cc, a very forgiving bike, with a nice snappy throttle.

l do not care how many dirt bikes u rode, how u r a :fast learner or how many safety courses u took, a 600 is too powerful for a newbie, flat fact, & the other advice will get u killed!

l have 2 pins in my hip, & they came from a Honda CB400 Super Sport! They bother me occasionally, & remind me how easy it is to wreck when someone jumps in front of you!

Both the Yamaha R6 and the Suzuki GSXR 600 are sport bikes that are generally not recommended for people that do not have any riding experience at all. A good starter bike for the beginner would be something like the Honda Rebel or maybe a Scooter of some sort. Maybe you should consider one of these.

A 600 ins not necessarily to big to start out on if ur talking a cruiser but a sport bike 600 is actually quite a bit of power. l also however do not agree iwth people who say get a 250, u will outgrow it in two weeks & lose a bunch of money trading up. If u really want a sport bike maybe check otu a suzuki gs500. It is like a mini gsxr. l started out having never touched a bike in my life on a Intruder 800 but like l said sport bikes & cruisers r a whole different machine.

niether, stay off of the ss bikes until you get some saddle time. if you just have to have a sports bike and you have good self control try a sv650s,its roomy handels good and put 70hp on the ground witch is more than enuogh to make your heart beat. a gsxr600 puts down about a 115 hp playing with that takes skill .
