l dropped my ninja 250 and bent the shift lever.l had it bent back, but nowit wont down shift properly.It is getting stuck between 2/N.l can only down shift to1st gear when the bike isat a complete stop. HELP!

If the shifter isnt bent to the point that it phisicaly wont move far enough to make the full shift then some options are;
1) you damaged a shift fork or the shift cam/shaft (Dealer repair)
2) you bent something related to clutch pull, check cable and brackets
on clutch.
3) you broke syncro gear.(Dealer repair)
4) you changed position of shift linkage or rod. Re adjust per manual.*

Most likely item 4 then item 2.

sounds like the metal shifter has been permanently fatigued (stressed) which makes it alot weaker and harder too get back to original shape. if you call kawasaki parts department give them youre chassis number and year/make of the bike you will be able too get a replacement shifter for a good price. hope this helps

the first guy pretty much gave u the best answer. but l just wanted to add that the same happened to me & l would have a hard time going from 1-2 or from 2-1. it would always get stuck on neutral & sometimes would not go to first. what happened on mine was that the shifter (the peg u push with ur foot) bent towards the frame & when downshifting to 1 from 2 it would rub against another metal part that is right next to it, so it would get stuck on neutral. every time. check that out & see if the shifter is being obstructed when going between the first two gears.

if u can shift between 2-6 without any problem than this might be ur problem & u can just some kind of lever-like (strong screwdriver) to move it a bit away from the frame.
if not, best of luck fixing it.
