l have a 40cc and 4hp chainsaw motor would this have enough power if l could still use the gears?

it depends on your weight and the weight of the bike. my initial though is that your hp is way to low. l would say 7hp+
|

It'd be ok if you do not weigh more than about 30 pounds and do not want to go more than maybe 20 mph.
No matter how you gear a motor, that wo not give it more power.

A horse moves with one horsepower. A 600W electric scooter has about 1/4 the power of your chainsaw and they move okay - just not very fast. A Honda Cub has 4hp. If you can find a gearbox to hitch to it, go for it! And have fun building and learning - that is what life is about.
