The old disconnect battery test may have worked on old generator cars, but, it is not recommended for ANYTHING new. Measure ur battery voltage with a voltmeter, then, start ur engine, voltage reading should increase, hopefully to somewhere between 13.5 to 15 volts. IF u get this reading charging system is OK & ur battery is probably going bad. If u do not see an increase, OR, if the voltage is over 15 volts something is wrong with ur charging system. Those bikes have a field excited brushless set-up. It could be ur stator, field winding, rectifier, or voltage regulator (which l believe is the old mechanical style & what l suspect is ur problem). Its kind of difficult to explain, but, a mechanic would by-pass the regulator doing a procedure called ''full fielding the altenator'' which would immediately test the voltage regulator. Good luck finding ur problem.
