Ok l have a few questions regarding mopeds in the uk.

1. What age do you have to be to drive 1?
2. How much is insurance for a 50cc moped on average and is it required.
3. How much is the average Tax for moped? 50cc again.

1. You have to be at least 18 years old.
2. Insurance is required. It will be around 500-1000 per year.
3. The average tax for a moped is around 100 dollars.

But, l am from India. So, over there they r much cheaper. They r 40,000 rupees. Which is 708 Euros. So, l suggest u but it there. Also, u can transport on ship for about 200 Euros. Off course it is ur choice though.

3. Tax Is £15 A Year. But Try To Buy One With Tax Alredy!

*Yhoo Need A Provisional License, Ask At Yhoor Nearest Post Office For A Form. Yhoo Also Need A CBT, Which Can Cost £50-£100 Typically. But This Should INCLUDE The Hire Of The Bike.

Just A Buying Tip: When Yhoo Purchase Yhoor Moped/Scooter;
1. Make Sure ALL Paperwork Is Up-To-Date
2. Make Sure It Is Taxed/MOT'd
3. Make Sure Yhoo Are Comfortable With The Size/Position Etc.
4. Make Sure Yhoo Have All The Correct Clothing (It Hurts If Yhoo Fall Off Even At 30Mph)
5. And Remember Do not Rush Into Decisions And Stick To Yhoo Budget (Haggle If Nesecary, Is There Something On The Bike I.E. A Scratch Etc. That Yhoo Could Haggle With)

sorry can not answer insurance but you can get a quote on line,
£15 but might off gone up a few quid my motorcycle tax has just gone up

1. If u passed ur car test before 1 February 2001, u r automatically entitled to ride a moped without L-plates & without taking CBT (although it is highly recommended that u do). You can also carry a passenger.

If u passed ur car test on or after that date, u r required to complete Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) before riding on the road.

You must be at least 16 years old to ride a moped.

You can take a full moped test but this will only entitle u to a provisional motorcycle licence.

Note: From June 2003 all EC Type Approved mopeds have been restricted to 28 mph.

2. Insurance can be as little as £250 but can be up to £1000. When l had a moped l found that the cheapest insurance was CIS Co-operative insurance & they also paid out when some bugger nicked it!
