Hl GUYS ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS ONE PLEASE. I'M THINKING OF BUYING A GSXR750 SLINGSHOT - 1996 - THE SELLER IS ASKING £1700. IT LOOKS TO BE A VERY CLEAN BIKE BUT l NOTICED AN OIL LEAK COMING FROM UNDER THE ROCKER COVER. THE SELLER ASSURES ME THAT THIS IS NO PROBLEM BUT IT RINGS ALARM BELLS.ANY THOUGHTS ON WHETHER IT COULD BE A BIG PROBLEM OR ONE WHICH IS EASILY RECTIFIED.THANKS FOR ANY INPUT. ANY ADVICE ON THIS BIKE WOULD BE VERY WELCOME.CHEERS.
Thanks for Blackclouds helpful answer - please could you clarify 'snapped bolts'? Leak is on right hand side. If you are reading this Blackcloud anymore advice would be much appreciated.

pretty common.bit of a fiddly pain to do,but just time(small width gskt but large).only concern would be snapped bolts on removal(rare).get him to knock 50 off .He clearly does not or cant to do it himself or would have done.

if someone has overtightened the cam cover bolts and stripped a thread ( or two ! ) it will probaly leak . take it for a good run and see how bad it is. be very careful about buying this bike, its a buyers market out there.plenty around that DONT leak oil . good luck.

As mentioned, check to make sure all of the bolts are there, if so it is probably just the gasket. Most double overhead cam bikes without hydraulic valve adjusters require the cover be removed to adjust valves. After doing this several times, the gasket leaks.

On the down side, gaskets are not cheap but on the bright side, if cover removal is the reason, it means he checked the valves regularily. If he hadn't, there would not be a drip of oil anywhere.
