l have a 1983 xl/xr 600 twin carby and it kicks over everythime but conks out. l think it might not be geting enough fuel. does nayone have an sugestions?

Replace the spark plug, many times the plug can have a hair-line crack in it that is not even visible & will work fine when it is cold but the moment the engine starts the plug immediately heats up causing it to expand making the crack separate just enough to make the plug stop firing & when the engine dies the plug immediately begins to cool down & retracts & starts firing again. It is easy to crack the plug during installation on the XR/XL 600 if u r not using the correct Honda tool (like the one that is supplied in the bikes tool bag).
