hey l have a 2004 rm85 and l noticed it has no eye glass for checking the oil or dip stick so l need to no how much ML of oil go in the transmission and can l use normal 4 stroke 10w40 trany oil l use it in my yamaha blaster 2 stroke and it works and also how many ML of 2 stroke go in 5.5 gallons of gas with a 40:1 mixture thatnks guys....

oil should be about the same should be able to see it thru a plate if there is no glass hole and read the back of b fuel mix bottle and l dont think you need the 5.5 just 5 it wil depend on what size bottle you buy there wil be a guage on back of bottle on most telling what it takes to mix it

It takes 0.5 litre of 10/30W or 10/40W or the more expensive option spectro 10/40 synthetic racing oil. Two stroke oil bottles are usually calibrated down the side with a transparent graduated panel for how much you have to use. Some 2-strokes have a calibrated cup on the underside of the fuel cap. 520 mls to 5.5 US gallons.

Look again, that model has an oil level sight window.

Go to - ur bike - Engine cover - # 52005
After draining the oil, hold the bike upright (as if u were sitting on it).
Fill the crankcase until the oil level covers 2/3 of the window.
Start & run the engine for a few minutes (to let the oil saturate all moving parts).
Stop the engine & let it sit for a few minutes (to let the oil drip to the bottom of the crankcase).
Re-check the oil level & add or drain some if necessary.

Purchase a ''ratio rite'' cup at any motorcycle dealership that sells dirt bikes.
Or figure it out manually.

Convert ''1'' Gallon to Ounces.
Divide that figure by the ratio u want to mix at -
148 / 40 = 3.7
Mix 3.7 ounces of oil, with every gallon of gas.
(4 ounces of oil would give a mixture of 36:1)
(3.5 ounces would be 42:1)
