l checked the battery and it seems to be good. When l tried to start it l thought l heard a little ''pop'' that was barely audible. It seems that the bike is not getting any electrical power. Any suggestions on my problem and how l could fix it myself (if it is VERY minor)?

This is likely too simple to be right-but lift the seat and check the fuse box. Look at the wiring under there,it may be as simple as a wire chafing against the frame, causing a fuse to blow. It happens.

Check the main fuse under the seat, it may be blown, if it is, you need to do a quick run over of all electrical wires and make sure none of them are becoming shorted(chaffed and touching other metals), then find out what ampage rating the main fuse is in your manual and replace it. :)

You should roll your bike to see if you can jump start it in second gear or jump the battery from a car. If it starts, it is likely your battery. If the fuse is blown, it wo not start at all.
